Our Barre classes are a fun, uplifting way to strengthen your whole body while improving your posture, flexibility, and endurance. This energising workout combines elements of ballet, Pilates, and strength training, all set to music to keep you motivated.
No dance experience? No problem. Barre is suitable for all levels and is more about precision and muscle activation than complicated choreography. Expect to feel the satisfying “burn” in your muscles and a rush of happy endorphins by the end of each class.
Using a ballet barre (or a sturdy chair), we’ll work through small, controlled movements that target your legs, glutes, core, and arms. You’ll also enjoy stretching sequences to improve flexibility and balance. The music helps create a fun and encouraging atmosphere, while the exercises are low impact but highly effective.
Wear comfortable workout clothes and bring a water bottle. Most people work barefoot or in grippy socks for stability.
Barre is great for anyone aged 40+ looking to add variety to their fitness routine. It’s especially beneficial for improving posture, strengthening your lower body, and building core stability – all in a joint-friendly way. Whether you’re a Pilates regular or completely new, you’ll be able to work at your own pace.
Our Barre classes are held at Brookwood Memorial Halls in Surrey every Friday.
Classes run in blocks according to the school term times. Classes are £12 block-booking only.
